Information Officer Training
When a critical incident occurs, your Information Officer will gather, filter, generate, and disseminate communications. They’ll hold facts of the incident alongside your organization’s voice and values. Through this training, we’ll empower your primary and backup Information Officers to access their resources and approach this work with confidence and sound judgment.
Workshop length with practicum: 2 hours
Outcomes:
- Understand and identify the difference between reputation management and crisis communications, and which teams and toolkits to deploy when.
- Understand the boundaries and areas of collaboration between the Information Officer and Spokesperson in a crisis.
- Deepen understanding of the Information Officer role in a crisis.
- Learn methods for engaging your key collaborators.
- Build confidence utilizing tools, templates, and resources for developing messaging.
- Learn key criteria for message content and timing.
